Purpose Circles

EVERYDAY ACTIVISTS

impact is driven by your inner purpose

How many times have you thought to yourself, “I want to find a way to give back to society.”

Using your privilege to stand up for the historically marginalized is crucial. But it can be difficult to know where to start. At The Intention Collective, we believe that community impact starts with personal work—understanding your role in your community, the inherent power you hold, and what issues speak most to you.

Purpose Circles brings together small action groups

— citizens who feel ready to participate in building community, giving back or making change. Through a set of guided conversation and compassion training, the group articulates a sense of personal and shared purpose, and plans collective action toward social change.

This course will allow you to connect with:

A working group made up of other concerned citizens from your community

A compassion program that includes reflection and conversation-based compassion work

Support on changemaking strategies to tackle issues in your own community

The opportunity to engage in a collective action project with peers from your cohort

The truth is that each of us has immense power to make a change: through our personal decisions, our words, and our collective power. Change starts with you…which starts with deepening your relationship with yourself.

Issue Spotlight

Our goal at {tic} is to highlight invisible issues so that citizens can reflect on these. We are currently thinking about under-trial prisoners.

A disproportionately high number of under-trial prisoners are from the poorest, most marginalized groups in India: schedule caste/schedule tribes and religious minority groups, and they are often unable to access legal support, afford bail or fines.

Studies point out that children of prisoners struggle to survive the chaos and stigma that takes over their lives, and babies living with their mothers in prison are growing up in unhealthy, violent circumstances; denied basic rights to school; and devoid of social and emotional security.
